Chase (he/him) is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision PhD program and an Assistant Lecturer at The University of Akron School of Counseling. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Ohio State University and a Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron. In addition, he is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Ohio, a National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Wellness Counselor. Currently, Chase is a private practitioner at Rocky River Psychological Services in Westlake, Ohio, where he predominantly serves the mental health, wellness, education, and career needs of LGBTGEQ+ adolescents (ages 13-17) and adults.Chase is actively involved in many national, state, and institutional organizations, including the Ohio Counseling Association as the current chair of the OCA Media, Public Relations, and Membership Committee and as a current ex-officio member of the inaugural OCA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Cultural Dignity Committee. In the past, he has served on the OCA Graduate Student Committee and was a founding member of the OCA Diversity and Inclusion Task Force. At the national level, Chase is a current member of the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE; formerly ALGBTIC) Conference Committee and he is a current doctoral Emerging Leader of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). At The University of Akron, he has served as Secretary-Treasurer, Secretary, and Social Chair on the executive board of the Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) Alpha Upsilon Chapter.Chase has been the recipient of numerous CSI chapter awards, including outstanding master’s student, outstanding doctoral student, chapter fellow, outstanding service to chapter, and outstanding counseling practitioner. In addition to being a published author, Chase has nearly 40 national, regional, state, and invited presentations. His presentations have covered a range of topics, including LGBTGEQ+ issues in counseling and supervision, the use of ecotherapy in counseling, and promoting social media literacy and wellness, among others.

James is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Chi Sigma Iota Walden University Chapter, Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE), Association for Creativity in Counseling (ACC), Ohio Counseling Association, Treasurer of Ohio chapter of SAIGE, in addition, a White House photography intern in the Vice President’s photography office in 1999. James has done poster presentations on Photography and Counseling: Current Interventions at the All Ohio Counseling Conference and the American Counseling Associations Association for Creativity in Counseling Conference. Lastly, James is working on writing a book about photography and its therapeutic qualities. James in 2018 traveled to Moshi, Tanzania, on a mission trip to photograph buildings and programs associated with the Diocese of Moshi to help raise awareness and funds for various programs sponsored by the Diocese of Moshi.

Yub is a graduate student at John Carrol University on the Clinical Mental Health Counseling track. He aspires to be a sex and kink-positive counselor/sex educator and believes kink activities can have therapeutic qualities. Emmett currently works as a clinician for Navigate Counseling and as an instructor for the Addictions Certificate program at Kent State University. Emmett specializes in working with the queer and transgender communities, trauma, addictions, and dual diagnoses. Emmett continues to work with the Kent State LGBTQ+ Center and the Quest Mentorship Program to support and advocate for the students and their families. Emmett is certified in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Counseling and passionate about working with this community. He believes in fighting for social justice and equity and is a fierce advocate for his clients.
